Introducing...

How Safe For Life began.

Since 2012, The Rescued Pup has been pulling dogs from shelters and giving them a safe place to land while we prepare them for new homes.

But we realized rescue is a reactive response. By the time we meet these dogs, they've already lost their homes and entered an overwhelmed shelter system.

Safe For Life was created to provide a proactive solution.

Our goal is to reach families earlier—before the challenges they're facing become overwhelming and surrender feels like their only option.

Because keeping a dog safely in the home that already loves them doesn't just help that dog and their family. It also means one less dog entering an already overcrowded shelter system.

What Safe For Life does.

Safe For Life is designed to meet dog owners where they are, with education, training and resources for the challenges that can come with owning a dog.

Sometimes you need help understanding your dog's behavior. Sometimes you need better information about nutrition, enrichment or care. And sometimes life changes, circumstances get difficult, and you need a little help keeping your dog at home.

Get involved with Safe For Life.

Whether you’re looking for help with your own dog, want to join one of our programs, or have something you’d like to offer the community, there are several ways to be a part of Safe For Life.

Need Assistance?

Sometimes keeping a dog at home has less to do with training and more to do with getting through a difficult time.

Safe For Life connects dog owners with available resources and assistance that may help them continue caring for the dogs they love.
